Terry Goddard

Goddards Painters and Decorators was established in 1974 by Terry and Linda Goddard and we work within the NHS, Commercial, Retail,  Housing Association and Domestic sectors. Our areas of work include a approximate 40 mile radius of Brighton including West Sussex, Surrey and Kent. We are happy to take on projects from £500 to £50,000  No matter what the value of the project we are always happy to deal with clients directly helping them to take the stress out of the project. We are experienced in dealing with complex projects providing solutions to any problem that may arise.

Goddards are fully insured with both Public Liability  £2,000.000 and Employers Liability £10,000.000

Goddards Environmental Policy

We recognise that our decorating activities have an impact on the environment arising from our consumption of raw materials, energy and water and from our generation of waste and emissions to land, air and water. Strict control is taken over wastage, reuse of materials wherever possible and consideration of environmental issues

In order to minimise environmental impact we are committed to:

  • Comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulations
  • Continual improvement in our environmental performance and minimising the risks of pollution arising on our sites
  • Promote this policy throughout the Firm and ensure that all staff receive environmental training appropriate to their role and responsibilites
  • Make efficient use of natural resources by minimising waste and conserving energy and water
  • Keep transport use to a minimum and regularly service our vehicles to maintain their efficiency
  • Publish this policy on our website and provide a copy to anyone who legitimately requests one
  • Review this Policy annually to take into account of changes in organisation, legislation or other internal or external factors

Goddards Health & Safety Policy Statement

It is the policy of Goddards Decorators to recognise and accept its responsibilites to prevent injury and ensure a healthy, safe working environment for all its employees. The firm also accepts its statutory duties to conduct its undertaking in such a way so as to ensure that the persons not in its employment, who may be effected by its working activities, are not exposed to risks to their health and safety.

Managerial Responsibilities

Terry Goddard has overall responsibility for health, safety and welfare and will ensure that the policy is properly implemented, monitored and periodically reviewed in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions.

The Firm will take all reasonable practicable steps to meet these responsibilities paying particular attention to the provisions and maintenance of:

  • Plant, equipment and systems of work
  • Safe arrangements for the use of, handling storage and transport of equipment and materials
  • Sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision
  • Safe place of work and access
  • A healthy working environment
  • Protective clothing and equipment

Employee/Subcontractor Responsibilities

It is equally a duty of every employee/subcontractor whilst at work to:

  • Take care of their own and other person’s health and safety
  • Co-operate with the employer in fulfilling its obligations

Failure to observe these duties may lead to disciplinary action.
